The Present (sort of...)
3-8-00

As of yet, I hadn't written anything in this section.  Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that there is no
present.  Everything is in the past.  The present is just a fleeting instant.  It's always changing.  It is interesting that they say we can awaken here and now when "here" and "now" are both concepts, as opposed to "there" and "then."  Obviously, though, one has to conceptualize in order to convey any information to others, unless they're both very adept telepaths who don't need to think in words.  I guess since all but the first bit of the other sections of my ramblings is simply random thoughts, though, and not descriptions of actual events, it doesn't really matter what'e written there.  In fact, the only reason I'm writing this here instead of somewhere else is so all the sections have something written in them.  Because now I'm gong to simply freewrite about more abstract subjects.  One is what we must do here and now.  The past doesn't matter, because it's over; and the future can't be controlled, so we have to focus on the present.  (Yes, I know the present doesn't really exist, but I've got to call it something.)  Furthermore, we have to do things that have an effect on other people.  Because there is no persisting "self," the only way to last in any way is in interactions with other people.  If we're all incarnations of the same Mind, we can live in other people's minds.  Thus after "death" we truly become some part of the greater Whole, rather than persist as a separate individual, as most of us believe we do here on earth.  After all, are we really all that much more than that which others percieve us as.  As far as I can tell, all of you are merely figments of my imagination.  Thus we have to do something worthwhile here and now.  If our actions increase dukkha (suffering), many people will think of us in a negative way.  Perhaps this is Hell. If we help to relieve suffering, we will be in "heaven."  Of course, this would involve merely acting as society expects us to, which is clearly not the best solution.  The vast majority of people aren't awakened to Reality, so may not see these actions as they truly are.  The most famous person to ever try and increase the harmony with which humanity lived got nailed to a tree.  Sure, 1/3 of the world's current population now claim to follow this man's teachings, but most of them are hippocrites who would laugh at anybody who did today what Jesus did 2000 years ago.  It would be in a Christian church, not some temple, that he would act against the "money-changers."  It is Christians, not Jews, who would deeply sadden Him with their hippocricy, saying Jesus died for all mankind but 90% of it is going to Hell anyway.
